Welcome to my website.  On this site you will find what you need to succeed in English and/or Speech.  The site is updated frequently and it would be wise to check it regularly, especially when you miss class

When you are absent, check the Calendar Link; all due dates and classwork are posted here.  Honors classes will appear in pink, Scholarship in teal and Speech in aqua on the calendar.  Be sure to click on your class to read that day's description of work.

For extended assignments and projects, click on the appropriate link on the homepage for your class/assignment from the menu.  There you will find assignments, blogs  and special announcements.  On these links you will find detailed information for long term assignments and projects.

Extra Credit is rare, but when there is an opportunity it will be posted.  Most opportunities are in the form of essay or speech contests.  There will be times that I'll post extra credit without telling you.  Be observant!

The Great Gatsby movie extra credit!
There are 2 choices to earn this extra credit.  Regardless of your choice, both require you turn in your ticket stub with your name and period printed in ink and that you participate in one of the discussion sessions.  You will not receive credit for just seeing the movie

Choice 1:
See the movie, The Great Gatsby, at the Rave Cinema at the Greene on Saturday, May 11 at 11:15 AM (the movie is 2 1/2 hours long).  The Rave is offering a $9.00 ticket that will include admission, popcorn and soft drink.  You will be required to sign up in my room by Tuesday, 5/7 if you plan to attend so that we have an accurate head count.  After the movie, meet with me and Ms. Weiss to discuss the film (place TBA).  There will be a sign in sheet and you will be expected to participate.

Choice 2:
See the movie, The Great Gatsby, on your own time before May 22nd at the theater of your choice.  Attend the afternoon discussion in my room on Wednesday, May 22.  Please bring a snack to share and your own drink.  Discussion will be about 1 hour.
