OMEA Large Group contest results from Friday, May 10th @ BHS auditorium~Congrats to all students! I am so proud of you all!

Results are now posted on choir door for next years' Select Vocal Ensemble~all members need to turn in application with Check for $14 by Friday, May 24th. 
Select Vocal Ensemble to sing the 'Star Spangled Banner' at the Dayton Dragons Home game on May 30th~meet at 5:15pm on the plaza.

Student of the Month (May 2013)
 
Period #1; Choir- 8:  Alex Barty learned the vocal solo for 'Roll With the Changes' and performed it with ease at our 'Recruit Concerts' on Tues., May 14th!  Way to go, Alex!                       

Period #2; Music - 8:  Emma Coning did her power point project on the composer, "Jim Butke" and performed a Celtic Dance for extra credit!  Thanks for sharing your talents, Emma!                               
Period #3; Choir - 7: I am giving STUDENT OF THE MONTH to all students in the 7th Grade Choir for earning a SUPERIOR RATING in Class 'A' at the OMEA Large group contest on May 10th!  Way to go, Choir!  Make sure you sign up for choir next year!                                            
Period 6: Music - 7: Kaeli Watts presented her power point on 'The Adams Family' the Musical and had a magnificent report complete with character pictures, a comprehensive synopsis and a YOUTUBE video to watch from the musical that she actually went to at the Shuster Theater!                                          
Period 7: Choir - 6:  Hunter Jergens tried out for Connection Showchoir singing the song, 'Castle on A Cloud' (a song that we worked on in class) and did a wonderful job delivering the emotional context of the song to her judges!                                       
Period 8; Music - 8 :  Rachel Borsoni presented her picture power point slide show in class and shared heartfelt photos of her family and new addition to her family, 'SPICE', a dog she adopted from the Animal Shelter back in December!

Congratulations to the following choir students who achieved high reading scores during 1st quarter and were chosen to Emcee this years' TALENT SHOW on Friday, April 5th for their grade level assembly! (LOCATION:  Ankeney new gym~!)
8th Grade Assembly/ Period 1: Skyler Coleman & Rose Tyler~ 
6th Grade Assembly: Period #2: Jessica MacBeth & Evelyn Long~
7th Grade Assembly/Period 3: Remy Stanforth & Allison Minnick~
The emcees for the evening show on Thursday nite, April 4th 7pm in the Ankeney new gym will be;  Alison Corder & Emily Ott~!

NOTE:  Students will sing the National Anthem at the May 30th Dayton Dragons home game!  Meet on the plaza at 5:15pm for run thru on the field, followed by performance on the plaza square at 6pm!  Dragons Tickets will be passed out in class during the week of: April 29th *(during OAA testing week). .  Parents: be looking for the envelope with tickets, baseball bucks(only issued to purchased seats) and voucher for free baseball hat!  (last day of school for students!)
