What We Do

Activities

Student Socials – Every fall and spring, the PTO organizes a student social for each grade. The socials are immediately after school and include activities such as volleyball, food, music and fun.

8th Grade Farewell – Every May, the PTO hosts a fun-filled farewell to our graduating 8th Graders. Students can enjoy games, food, and many other activities.

Project Success Math Tutoring – Students receive free math tutoring once a week from fantastic volunteers.

Teacher Appreciation Week – The first week of May, the PTO honors our teachers with various surprises with the help of students and parents.

Fairs and Bees – FMS holds various science and social studies fairs throughout the year, as well as geography and spelling bees. The PTO supports them by providing volunteers.

Classroom Needs – When teachers need materials or items for their classrooms not provided by the school district, the PTO steps in to help.

School Supplies Kits – Each year, the PTO hosts a school supplies kit sale to make it easier and faster for students to buy their supplies in one place, for a great price.

Fundraisers

Book Fair – Each fall, the PTO hosts a Scholastic Book Fair for the school library. This is a major fundraiser for the Ferguson IMC because it helps them earn new books for the shelves to keep the students interested in reading.

Box Tops & More – The PTO collects Box Tops, Campbell's Soup Labels, Tyson labels, and Coke Rewards Points a few times during the school year. Classes with the most collected labels win a pizza party.

Sports Concessions – The PTO hosts food concessions during many of the school’s sports games.

Spirit Wear – The PTO holds periodic spirit wear sales to boost school spirit.

Kroger Community Rewards – Parents can register their Kroger Plus Card to the Ferguson PTO, so that every time they shop, FMS gets a small percentage each quarter.

Fall & Spring Fundraisers – The PTO holds larger fundraisers once in the spring and once in the fall. Our goal is to not have fundraisers that require students to go door-to-door, but to have fundraisers that provide desirable and quality product s to families.

Holidaygrams – Every December, the PTO offers holiday-themed, candygram-style items for students to send to one another.

Volunteer Opportunities

Teacher Support – This is an on-going need for our school. Requests are submitted by Mr. Wolgast and/or other staff members and teachers. Volunteers will be asked to help with teacher luncheons/parent conferences, classroom needs and/or other ways to support our teachers and school. E-mails will be sent out to request help as they arise.

IMC/Library -- Volunteers are needed to help reshelf and check out books for students and assist the librarian with other tasks as needed. This position is usually at a set time, once each week.

Book Fair – Each year volunteers are needed to help with our book fair. This is a major fundraiser for the Ferguson IMC. Volunteers will be needed to assist in book sales and re-stocking book fair items.

School Photo Day – 6 to 8 volunteers are needed to assist the photographers. An email will be sent out to request help with this event.

Student Socials/Activities - Volunteers are needed to chaperone, and serve soda/food. Written guidelines are available for this event.

Project Success Math Tutoring – We need volunteers to provide free math tutoring to students once a week. Most of the tutors come from the base, but we can never have too many volunteers!

I Can Help Where Needed - If you are someone who would like to help the PTO where needed, please be sure to provide your e-mail address on our PTO envelope (or in an email to the link below) so we can let you know when help is needed.
