I have been a “teacher” of sorts for many years.  I started my teaching career in 1985 as a language arts teacher at Springfield Northeastern High School.  In 1987, I became a teacher of adults after starting a new career as a training specialist for Electronic Data Systems (EDS). I worked at EDS for eleven years and then decided to return to public education.

Prior to joining Beavercreek in 2004, I worked as an elementary gifted specialist at Wilmington City Schools and a communication arts instructor at Wilmington College. I also functioned as the Clinton County School-to-Work Coordinator for almost two years.

This is my fifteenth year in public education and my eighth year with Beavercreek City Schools. I have spent the last six years teaching language arts after spending two years as the middle school gifted specialist.

Personal Information
I live in the country between Wilmington and Xenia with my husband, Doug; son, Drew; and daughter, Shelby. Both of my children attend the University of Cincinnati (UC). I graduated from Clinton-Massie High School and Wilmington College.  I received my gifted endorsement from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Humanities from Wright State University. I also completed graduate classes at Wilmington College to obtain a reading endorsement.

What do I like to do in my spare time?  In the fall, I travel to the University of Cincinnati (UC) football games to cheer on my son, Drew, who plays safety (#26). When I'm not at football games, I like to read, dine out, surf the Internet, watch reality shows and movies, and try out new recipes. I also enjoy shopping, traveling, and going on family vacations. My favorite vacation so far was a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas, St. Martin, and St. Thomas with my family.
