11 Excellent Years How do Beavercreek City Schools
compare to other districts?

According to documentation provided by the Ohio Department of Education, Beavercreek City Schools compares very favorably with other school districts throughout the state, both in terms of expenditures and academic achievement.

Expenditure Per Pupil: Below similar district AND state averages
Beavercreek Schools' Expenditure Per Pupil (EPP) has been below the state average and the averages of similar districts and districts in Montgomery County for the last 10 years. More district EPP information.

Pupil Administrator Ratio and Admininstrative Expenditure Per Pupil:  Superior to most Ohio districts
According to FY 2011 data published by the Ohio Department of Education, the district's Pupil Administrator Ratio is one of the lowest in the state.

The same data reports that Beavercreek City Schools' Administrative Expenditure Per Pupil is less than 66 percent of the public school districts in Ohio.  This figure does NOT reflect cuts made to the district's administrative employee ranks in November 2011 and March 2012, which makes the comparison between our school district and other Ohio districts even more favorable.

Academic performance:  Consistently "Excellent"
As of August 2011, Beavercreek Schools has earned 11 consecutive "Excellent" ratings from the Ohio Department of Education.  Only 46 of Ohio's 613 school districts can claim a similar record.  The district met or surpassed every measure of performance and progress recently assessed by the ODE, including 26 of 26 performance indicators that assess attendance, graduation rates, and academic proficiency by grade level and subject.  In addition, our district was designated "Excellent with Distinction" for the 2010-11 school year.

Academic achievement relative to educational spending

In 2011, the Center for American Progress conducted a nationwide study that evaluated the productivity of every major school district in the U.S. in terms of academic achievement relative to educational spending.  The report indicated that the Beavercreek City School District generates higher-than-average achievement per dollar spent, and concluded that our district was one of the most effective school districts in the Miami Valley.
