Communicating with the Public Beavercreek City Schools administrators work diligently to provide taxpayers, parents of schoolchildren and prospective residents with information about the District’s curriculum, operations, finances, budgets, programs and events. Several vehicles are used to ensure that information about the District reaches residents in a timely fashion. They include: 'Creek Connections – the District’s newsletter to the community 'Creek Connections is a quarterly publication that serves as a link between the administration and residents of the · Recent District activities and events · The District’s effectiveness in terms of educational delivery · Developments that concern District facilities · Financial issues of concern to the District taxpayers · Funding issues that impact school districts throughout the state · Developments and trends in curriculum · Information about key personnel issues · Policy-specific information · Upcoming District events and activities of interest to the community An archive of previous newsletters can be found in the left-hand navigation bar. (Note: Prior to January 2010, the District's newsletter was known as the Bridge Builder.) To have every new version of the newsletter e-mailed to you as a PDF, click on "Newsletter Distribution List" in the left-hand navigation bar. People Make the 'Creek People Make the 'Creek is a weekly publication that features a brief article on a staff member, a student, a community member, and a department or building. An archive of previous editions can be found in the left-hand navigation bar. District Web Site Beavercreek City Schools will endeavor to keep parents and members of the community apprised of information in a timely fashion. Visitors can opt in to newsletters, updates and alerts concerning a wide variety of District news and information if they so choose by subscribing to RSS Feeds or by creating a user account on the District's Web site. Users with accounts can choose from a variety of options, including e-mail and text alerts. Local News Media In an effort to keep citizens apprised of news, district administrative personnel communicate regularly with representatives of local news organizations, including the editors of the Beavercreek News-Current, the Dayton Daily News and local television and radio stations. One Call Now "One Call Now" is a notification system that allows school administrators to reach parents and staff with important information in a matter of minutes. This notification system can be used to communicate with thousands of people quickly in time of emergency. It can also be used to disseminate non-critical information, such as information about upcoming events or changes to extracurricular activity practices. In the case of phone messages, the One Call Now system automatically re-tries busy and no answer numbers until the message is delivered successfully or cancelled.
