Hello and welcome to
We are a preschool through fifth grade building serving the needs of all K-5 students who live in our neighborhood and the needs of all three to five year olds who live in our school district. We are all about teaching and learning and helping your child to be the best they can be as a learner and as a citizen in our school. We are committed to working to engage parents and community members in the educational process in such a way that we create an environment where community resources support student learning, achievement and the well being of our students.
We are committed to facilitating the learning process and helping our students to construct their own knowledge base. We believe that academically at-risk children must have planned and specific intervention if they are to grow academically and we have a strong intervention program. We believe that student interest plays an important part in the learning process. Parkwood teachers strive to provide a combination of information and experiences that students will find engaging and enlightening.
We cannot accomplish our mission without parent and community support. We encourage you to be a part of what happens in this building. We need your partnerships. While we always need your financial resources, we also need your caring spirit, your expertise, your ideas and your volunteer hours. Eleanor Roosevelt said, “It is today we must create the world of the future.” Please join in making this happen in a positive way at
