Winter Percussion:
As a marching percussion ensemble under the direction of Douglas McCullough this ensemble won numerous awards including being State Champions, and both Regional and National Finalists. Past music has included selections by Spyro Gyra, Carlos Santana, Paul Simon, Miami Sound Machine, Aram Khahaturian, and the Allman Brothers Band. In 2001 The BHS Percussion Ensemble became a concert ensemble under the direction of Jim Leslie concentrating on the best of standard percussion literature as well as studying the proper technique of all the various percussion instruments. This group is open to all band percussionists starting in December and going until May. Plans are being made for this ensemble to perform at both the OMEA State Convention, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
