Program Notes:
Welcome to your life; there's no turning back
The aggressive, tech-no-funk music of TEARS FOR FEARS
will be presented by the Beavercreek High School Marching Band in 2008.
The music asks us to examine the way we handle our internal and external issues.
Each of us struggles with the personal challenges of relationships, family, and self-esteem.
At times we may feel hopeless, powerless, or out of control.
Shout! Shout! Let It All Out
These are the things I can do without
As we wrestle with our own inner beast, we also fear for a planet in peril. Poverty, war, and a threatening
global condition move us toward action or helpless failure.
I can't stand this indecision married with a lack of vision
Everybody wants to rule the world
I can't stop believing everything will be alright
Broken, we are broken
Our performance will mirror darkness and rage with that of strength and hope, of learning how to really
care and being passionate about what we believe.
Something happens and I'm head over heels
I never find out till I'm head over heels
Throughout our lives, there are times to stand up for what is right and what is wrong
times to SHOUT!
Equally as important are the times to be quiet and listen
to listen to other ideas and listen to your heart.
And when you’ve taken down your guard
If I could change your mind I'd really like to
The 2008 Beavercreek High School Marching Band Show challenges us to find our inner wisdom and
choose the right time to Shout and the right time to Listen. When we achieve that balance we achieve
serenity, where pain and disappointment coexist with a peaceful and progressive future,
where each day is new with no more worry.
Cumpleanos chica, no hay preocuparse...
Music and lyrics by Roland Orzabal, Curt Smith, Ian Stanley, and Chris Hughes
