Beavercreek City Schools is proud to recognize seven Beavercreek High School students who have been named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Michael Cole, Grace Culpepper, Janet Gao, Brandon Harroff, Mark Jabour, Alison Thomson, and Robert Von Holle scored in the upper two-thirds nationally of all Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Tests (PSAT/NMSQT) taken. These students may be eligible for special scholarships offered by corporations and businesses through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is a national academic competition for scholarships that began in 1955. In order to be recognized and qualify for scholarships, students must attain a certain score on the PSAT/NMSQT, must be enrolled in a high school, plan to enroll full time in a college in the fall following their high school graduation, and be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
