• Instructional Media Centers

All Beavercreek City Schools feature Instructional Media Centers (IMC), commonly referred to as “libraries.”   Each IMC contains a wide range of non-fiction and fiction books appropriate for students of all reading levels, as well as reference and instructional materials.

IMC guidelines are set up to encourage reading and research while promoting good library citizenship skills.  Students visit the IMC to check out books and/or other materials for reading enrichment and curriculum-related activities.

Elementary schoolchildren throughout the District visit the library regularly with their classes to select books for their enjoyment.  Such visits encourage reading in children who might not otherwise be exposed to the resources of a public library.

Middle and high school students are permitted to visit the library as part of classroom study, during study hall periods, or on an as-needed basis for research projects.  Beavercreek High School library hours are from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ferguson Hall library hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

    Accessibility

IMCs are open during regular school hours.  Students can access electronic card catalogs for all District IMCs from any school or home computer.  They can also access subscription sites outside of school with passwords provided by their IMC tech.

    Technology

Each IMC also includes a classroom-size technology lab with Internet and intranet connections where students can use computers as part of their instruction.  This lab is available to teachers for their classes by appointment.
