Did you know September is Deaf Awareness Month? We are proud to have many amazing individuals in our district who are part of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. To celebrate, some of our students, teachers, and interpreters had a blast decorating the BHS rock! 🤟🏼 AHA stands for All Hearing Abilities, reminding us that everyone, regardless of hearing level, is welcome in our community. In these photos, each person is signing their role: artist, interpreter, student, and teacher. 💙 #DeafAwarenessMonth #BeavercreekSchools

It's been a busy week in the Medical Detective's room.. Earlier this week, to practice dissection procedures, review the digestive system, and learn about the skeletal system, students in Medical Detectives class dissected owl pellets, assembled skeletons and compared the rodent skeleton to the human one. Amazing! It was a real "Hoot!"

Each week, the 8th grade social studies teachers choose one student as the "Great American of the Week." This student exemplifies the qualities that every Great American should have such as a curiosity and passion about history, being involved and motivated in the classroom, and treating all classmates and teachers with respect. For the week of September 2nd, Arianna is the Greatest American of the Week. Ms. Burk says Arianna takes advantage of every opportunity in class to learn more about history and even asked to take two tests early so she wouldn't miss anything when she was on vacation. Wow! We're so proud of you Arianna! Way to Go!

Making Friends, Learning and Having Fun!! In Science, Coy sixth grade students used deductive reasoning to figure out what mystery object was on the card placed on their backs and then found their match. For example, peanutbutter had to find jelly. These new friends then used a venn diagram to find out how they were alike and how they were unique. More friends were made all day long as they looked for other matches in the halls, cafeteria, and at recess. What a wonderful day!
