A new sign was recently unveiled dedicating the front of the school as Dennis Montague Way in honor of longtime principal, Mr. Dennis Montague.
Mr. Montague, who passed away in late December 2024, led Valley Elementary from 1984 until his retirement in 2001. His career with Beavercreek City Schools began in 1968 as a Physical Education teacher at Main Elementary.
A beloved leader and celebrated member of our community, his legacy continues through his sons, Jeff and Andy, and his daughter-in-law, Kristine, who all serve Beavercreek City Schools today.

We were so excited to welcome Donnie Evege, former Ohio State DB, National Champion, and Fitness Challenge Buddy with Lt. Governor Jim Tressel’s Team Tressel Fitness Challenge (part of the Governor’s Healthy Ohio initiative).
Donnie visited Main and Valley Elementary to introduce this exciting challenge to our 4th and 5th graders! The program encouraged students to:
✅ Get moving
✅ Fuel up with healthy foods
✅ Prioritize their best sleep

Our 5th grade classes are building collaboration skills through creative team challenges. 💡
🤝 Mrs. Robert’s class took on a cup stacking challenge with the twist that they could only use twine to move the cups.
🧩 Mrs. Olsen’s class worked together to complete puzzles without having a picture to guide them.
These activities strengthen problem-solving, communication, and teamwork while having fun! 🦫🧡🖤

📚🦁 Valley Elementary’s 3rd Grade Animal Open House! 🐢🌿
Third-grade students at Valley Elementary recently completed their 3rd quarter project, diving into the world of zoology! 🧐🐾 Each student researched an animal of their choice, exploring its habitat, physical features, adaptations, diet, and more.
As a creative extension, they built dioramas at home to answer the big question:
🦜 "As a zoologist, how can you provide the best habitat for your animal?"
Families had the opportunity to attend the 3rd Grade Animal Open House and see the students' incredible work firsthand. 👏🐘 Thank you to our students, families, and teachers for making this such a fantastic learning experience!
