If you don't already know him, meet Mr. Seilhamer! He is this week's Staff Spotlight. Mr. Seilhamer is a 7th and 8th-grade science teacher at Ankeney Middle School and the head girls' basketball coach. He has spent 22 years in the district already. When asked who has been the most influential person in his career, he said, "My wife and kids because I never want to let them down." About his students, he hopes they can learn from him how to be kind and empathic because you never know what someone else might be going through. If there is one thing he wishes more people knew about BCS, it is how much our staff goes above and beyond to provide a great learning experience for all our students.

Remember when our very own Heather Marsh-Myers was selected to join a marching band of 400 band directors nationwide and perform in the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? Well, we finally have some photos to share!! Along with the photos, Heather said, "It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will always be grateful for. I had an amazing time performing for 3 million people live in NYC and millions more on television. My favorite part was networking with colleagues from across the US and hearing all the people along the parade route calling out to us about how thankful they are for the band directors in their lives!" Congratulations again to Heather on this accomplishment. 🧡🖤

Today, we highlight Brian Shively, our transportation administrative assistant for our staff spotlight. Brian has worked for BCS for five years, and within that time, he credits Transportation Supervisor Lindy Shumaker as the person who has been most influential in his career. He hopes students can learn two things from him: patience and kindness. Also, if there is one thing Brian hopes more people know about our district, it would be the array of opportunities our students have here, ranging from music, athletics, academic teams, and social clubs to numerous other activities. We are incredibly grateful to have Brian as a member of the Creek family!

This week's staff spotlight is Dustin Ferguson! Dustin is our physical education teacher at Trebein Elementary. Dustin has been a member of the Creek family for 19 years, and throughout his career, he has been most influenced by Principal Lisa Walk. He hopes his students get excited to come to his class every day and leave feeling that they are cared for and with a better understanding that living a healthy lifestyle can be fun! He also wishes more people could see how well Beavercreek employees collaborate and how much of a family atmosphere there is throughout the entire district. 🧡🖤 Congrats Dustin!

If your senior or you as a parent have not created a FAS ID and you need to complete the FAFSA, please create one as soon as possible. The FAFSA is still in the "soft launch" process so the site is sometimes a bit tricky to work with.
