👟🧡 A Great Day at Parkwood Elementary! 🖤

Some of our Parkwood students had an unforgettable experience thanks to Just a Pair of Shoes, a nonprofit organization founded by Matthew Cline with one mission: to put quality, name-brand shoes on the feet of young students, boosting confidence and creating a sense of belonging.

Through a partnership with Beavercreek Walmart, over 30 Parkwood students received brand-new Nike shoes, and with the help of the Wright State Raider Women’s Basketball Team and coaches, students were fitted for their shoes, received new socks, and even enjoyed a fun 3-point shooting competition! 🏀✨

A huge thank you to everyone who made this special day possible. Your generosity and teamwork truly made a difference! 🙌

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Creek XC Shines at Regionals! 🧡🖤

We’re so proud of our Beavercreek Cross Country teams who competed at the OHSAA Regionals in Troy this weekend!

🔥 Men’s Team:
Finished 2nd overall and named Regional Runners-up in Division I among 29 schools! Five runners placed in the Top 30 out of nearly 200 competitors. The team now advances to State in Columbus next weekend! 🏆

👏 Women’s Team:
Placed 8th out of 22 schools and narrowly missed qualifying for State. A big shoutout to Sophia Bowden (Senior), who finished 29th overall and will represent Beavercreek at State as an individual! 🌟

This week, Beavercreek High School held its 2nd Annual Seatbelt Challenge as part of Teen Driver Safety Week! 🧡🖤

Students put their seatbelt skills to the test in a fun, fast-paced challenge designed to raise awareness of the importance of buckling up every time.

Shaw Girls on the Run 5K Celebration! 🏃‍♀️💨🎨

After school on Thursday, October 16, the Shaw Girls on the Run team laced up for a 5K, marking the halfway point of their season! Parents, teachers, and a few Beavercreek High School cross country runners joined in as “running buddies” to cheer the girls on every step of the way, and the finish line came with a surprise burst of COLOR! 🌈✨

👁️ Learning by doing in Health Science Tech! 👩‍⚕️🧡🖤

Earlier this month, Mrs. Joy’s Health Science Tech students explored the structure of the eye in a hands-on lesson. Students built eye models, then simulated conjunctivitis and carried out a treatment plan to clear the infection!

Recently, to celebrate Mr. Shaw’s wedding reception, his class hosted a class wedding shower in his honor! 💐

Students played Wedding Bingo, shared their best marriage advice for the happy couple, tested their knowledge with a fun Kahoot all about Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, and finished the celebration with some delicious cupcakes! 🧁

With 600 meters to go, it was clear that either Senior Jackson Davis or Aiden Allen was going to win the GWOC Conference Championship. Instead of racing each other, they chose to run side by side and cross the finish line together.

📚✨ Our First Student Spotlight of the Year: Alex Ramirez! ✨📚

We’re excited to kick off this year’s Student Spotlight series with Alex Ramirez, a senior at Beavercreek High School and full-time College Credit Plus student at Wright State University! 🎓

Alex is not only an outstanding student but also an author! His debut novel, The City of Slyndora, will be released tomorrow! 📖🌟

The story first began as a narrative writing assignment in Mrs. Duke’s English Language Arts class at Coy Middle School. Since then, Alex has refined and expanded it into a full-length novel that reflects his creativity, perseverance, and passion for storytelling. ✍️

Alex’s journey from a middle school project to a published novel is truly inspiring and a great example of what it means to be a Beaver. 🧡🖤

Our Beavercreek High School Personal Finance students have just wrapped up their "Finding a Career That Fits" unit, exploring key career skills such as communication, résumé development, and interviewing techniques. 💪📄

To finish, students identified their own “Power Word,” a single word they would use to describe themselves in a job interview. They then created a bracelet or keychain as a reminder of their strengths and confidence. 🎨💬

🧡🖤 A special tribute at Valley Elementary 🧡🖤

A new sign was recently unveiled dedicating the front of the school as Dennis Montague Way in honor of longtime principal, Mr. Dennis Montague.

Mr. Montague, who passed away in late December 2024, led Valley Elementary from 1984 until his retirement in 2001. His career with Beavercreek City Schools began in 1968 as a Physical Education teacher at Main Elementary.

A beloved leader and celebrated member of our community, his legacy continues through his sons, Jeff and Andy, and his daughter-in-law, Kristine, who all serve Beavercreek City Schools today.

🥚🥛🍞 Parkwood 4th graders put their design skills to the test, figuring out how someone using a walker could carry eggs, milk, and bread from the car to the house!

Through extensive brainstorming, creativity, and a few savvy saves 🐣👏, they developed clever solutions and refined their problem-solving skills.
Hands-on learning at its best!

🌴☀️ Last Friday, Mr. Sigmon and Hudson Pepper showed up at Coy twinning in their best island vibes! 🍍🌊 Who wore it best? 😉 Either way, we think they nailed the tropical look to kick off the weekend. Hope yours was filled with sunshine and smiles!
