🌟 Shoutout to all the incredible superheroes at Shaw Elementary! 🦸♂️🦸♀️ We just recently wrapped up an AMAZING SUPERHERO DAY! 💥✨
👊 Everyone rocked their favorite superhero costumes, and the school buzzed with excitement from all the heroic activities, challenges, and fun! 🎉 Whether you were a caped crusader, a web-slinging wonder, or a Shaw Pax Hero, you definitely brought your A-game!

Congratulations to our Beavercreek gymnastics team! The team placed 2nd at the Turpin Invitational. Great job, ladies! 🧡🤸♀️🥈🖤

It's hard to believe, but most of our students celebrated last week's 100th day of school! Check out some of our Trebein 1st graders who dressed up like they were 100 years old this past Friday. #100thdayofschool

Congratulations to Coach Schweikert for giving a great presentation on how to build a successful middle school track & field program. Over the weekend, he presented at the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (OATCCC) track clinic in Columbus.

Congratulations to the entire Jacob Coy Power of the Pen team who competed at the district tournament on Saturday, January 20th: Maci Chris, Aniya Gracia, Tanish Mankala, Ashley Profeta, and our regional qualifiers: Jun Oshitani, Gabrielle Newman, Merry Bissell, and Rowan Sykes. Rowan earned fourth place overall in the district tournament.

If you don't already know him, meet Mr. Seilhamer! He is this week's Staff Spotlight.
Mr. Seilhamer is a 7th and 8th-grade science teacher at Ankeney Middle School and the head girls' basketball coach. He has spent 22 years in the district already.
When asked who has been the most influential person in his career, he said, "My wife and kids because I never want to let them down."
About his students, he hopes they can learn from him how to be kind and empathic because you never know what someone else might be going through.
If there is one thing he wishes more people knew about BCS, it is how much our staff goes above and beyond to provide a great learning experience for all our students.

Remember when our very own Heather Marsh-Myers was selected to join a marching band of 400 band directors nationwide and perform in the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Well, we finally have some photos to share!!
Along with the photos, Heather said, "It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will always be grateful for. I had an amazing time performing for 3 million people live in NYC and millions more on television. My favorite part was networking with colleagues from across the US and hearing all the people along the parade route calling out to us about how thankful they are for the band directors in their lives!"
Congratulations again to Heather on this accomplishment. 🧡🖤

Check out our Trebein Wolfpack this morning! They were camera-ready and eager to work with our District Character Ed Committee on a Rooted in Our Community video!

Mrs. Pleasant's second-grade class at Trebein recently completed a pizza box project to showcase their knowledge of habitats! 🍕🍕
For the project, students chose their favorite type of habitat to research, and then they learned about where the habitat is located, what animals and plants live in the habitat, and what the weather is like. Students also deepened their knowledge by choosing an animal in the habitat and learned what they looked like, what they ate, where they lived within their habitat, and three fun facts about their animals.
Next, the students incorporated science, writing, art, and technology into their unit and created a pizza display representing their chosen habitat!
Thanks to Donatos Pizza in Beavercreek for donating 25 new pizza boxes for this class project! 🍕🍕

Congratulations to our middle school wrestlers who won the Williamsburg Tournament over the weekend! Great job, wrestlers. 🤼

Meet Ruby Stahl! Ruby is a therapy Shihtzu dog at Dayton Children's. She sometimes visits students at Shaw Elementary and even gets a taste of what they do during the day as she sits at the table, ready to learn!

Parkwood Student Council members sold Candy Cane Grams in December as part of their community outreach to raise money for Feed the Creek. Every candy cane sold contributed to the fundraiser's success. Thanks to the generosity of Parkwood Elementary's students and staff, the Student Council donated $1,072 to Feed the Creek to help them provide food for children in the Beavercreek community. Way to go, Parkwood Elementary!

Please be advised that all BCS evening activities are as planned, including the opening night for the BHS Drama presentation of Hit and Misdemeanor, our Creek Hockey Military Appreciation Night at the Kettering Rec Center, and our boys' basketball game at Springfield. We hope to see many of you out tonight supporting our Beavers! 🖤🧡🧡🖤
